Chairman’s Report
- Highest court bookings Jason Goode, Rob Ballingall 2nd,
Steve Sieff 3rd
- Glass back wall – being
replaced with 4 panels, insurance covering most of the cost
- Finances – Income down 10%
even with new members joining throughout the year. Peter Dickinson
controlling outgoings well!
- Maintenance – Courts 1 and 4
walls and floors were refurbished and the lights have been replaced
with more energy efficient tubes. Plan for 2 and 3 to be done to
same standard next August
- Racketball - fast becoming a
popular sport. The Club is looking for a ‘supremo’ to take
responsibility for introducing it to the Club. Richard Harvey
mentioned that Bucks is planning to introduce a County Racketball
league
- Ken Goss – Rob reported
having a good phone call with Ken who, although quite poorly,
continues to walk the dog daily. He enjoys speaking to people about
life in general rather than moping on about his health
- Phil Cornhill – Phil is
stepping down from his position as Competition Organiser. Rob
thanked him for all his hard work over the years. Dominic will now
combine his present position with Competition organiser
- Social Committee Autumn Ball
– Tickets are still available for this popular event. It is being
held at Beaconsfield Golf Club Saturday 20th
November. So far there has been little support from the squash
section of out Club. Contact Andrew Madzia for tickets and further

AGM2009009
Thanks to the 50 or more who turned up last Friday for our AGM.
Most came to show their thanks and appreciation to Ken Goss for more
than 30 years serving the club. Unfortunately Ken was unable to join us
but we marked the occasion by naming Court 4 the 'Ken Goss Court' and
mounting a plaque.
The new Committee was duly elected and is now:
Chairman Robert Ballingall
Club Captain Richard Harvey
Ladies Representative Juliet O'Toole
Membership Secretary Nick Blackburn
League Organiser Kate Ballingall
Bookings and IT Neal Gibbons
Tournament Organiser Phil Cornhill
Junior Organiser John Ormiston
Events Organiser Dominic Thwaites
Secretary Chris Mellor
Other matters of interest:
(1) There are a few tickets left for the world class Exhibition match
being held on the Ken Goss Court - Saturday 19th December. Contact
Dominic to obtain your tickets (dominicthwaites@mac.com)
(2) Christmas Team squash starts on 7th December and runs for 6 Mondays
with a break for Christmas. Do join us for some friendly but competitive
matches for all abilities by signing up on the list or by contacting
Dominic.
(3) The new committee is updating the squash section of the Web-site (
www.cbltsc.com) . It already looks
much better but there's more to come. Please have a look and let me have
any comments/suggestions to keep it fresh, for both existing and
prospective new members.
(4) Thanks to Mary Crowshaw who has been working through sacks of lost
property and says: "There is a large quantity of adult and junior
clothing and shoes in Lost Property.
The most recent Lost Property is in two boxes next to the Tennis Balls
box in the main club lounge; older lost property is in 4 black sacks
under the tables by the kitchen serving hatch.
If you think you or your family have lost any item please call into the
clubhouse very soon and take a look as it is proposed to dispose of all
the Lost Property on Monday 30th November 2009. It is suggested that
particularly junior clothing should be marked clearly with a name to
assist with its return".
(5) Finally, a reminder that the Club AGM is being held at 8pm next
Friday, 27th November.
Regards
Rob Ballingall
Chairman

It's good to see my 'Last CHAT' did the business. Look at the new
improved line up.
Only two Ballingalls and only one of these is Robert. Thank you all
for your excellent response!
8. Any other business...
I hope as many of you as possible will turn out on Friday the 13th, if
for no better reason than to allow me to wish
you all a fond farewell.
Finally, you are all invited to join us at the Bar for nibbles. So do
come along for what should be an interesting and enjoyable evening.
