Aubrey made the Final of the Masters O65 National Squash Championship held in Manchester this weekend….
A comfortable semi final win for the player turned writer, Aubrey Waddy. Showing great skill and athleticism, Waddy’s shots were perfectly placed and proved to be too much of a stretch for the less mobile Hardem. However the final score which was 9/0, 9/0, 9/1, does not give enough credit to Hardem who was able to keep the rallies going to provide an enjoyable watch for the spectators. Needless to say when Hardem left the drawing board in the third game, a loud cheer was heard from both crowd and court. Both players showed great talent and sportsmanship, which Waddy will no doubt take to the finals.
Unfortunately, despite a spirited display Aubrey was runner up in the Final against Barry Featherstone loosing 9:5, 9:2, 9:1. All the same its a terrific achievement, well done Aubrey!
