Chesham Bois wins Bucks LTA Intermediate Knockout Cup!

Bathed in glorious sunshine on
probably the last day of the Indian summer, the Bucks LTA Knockout Cup Finals were held at the historic Stoke Park on their new
artificial clay courts on Sunday 5 October.
The Intermediate Cup final
between Chesham Bois and Iver Heath was a good spirited and very competitive
match that saw Chesham Bois go into a 3 -1 lead after the first round, with the Chesham
Bois pairing of Roy Coffer and Jenny Coady winning both sets against Iver Heath’s
secondpair.
In the final round Iver Heath’s
first pair played very well, pegging it back to 3-3, but Chesham Bois Tennis
Chairman Paul Vicary and his partner Viv Windsor battled on to win their
remaining two sets, giving Chesham Bois the win 5-3 overall.
Stoke Park’s hospitality extended
further in providing a rather well-earned scrumptious afternoon tea for all the
players and spectators!
The whole event was organised by
Bucks stalwarts, Janet Jamieson and Keith Dewick (President of Bucks LTA) and
his wife Anne.
