Men’s team squash – 1A v Aylesbury Grammar School, 18 Feb 2016

Only 1A in action this week as the top 5 from CBLTSC went head to head with the top team in the division, now boasting the newly crowned County champion Alex Preston. Alex actually ranks 3 for AGS, which gives some idea of their strength in depth, but on Wednesday he did turn out at 1, and faced a tough challenge from one of the only Bucks players to have a win against him on their CV, Sam Pothecary. This time Alex came through in a well contested three games, which was the same fate suffered by Dan Colquhoun against Tom Phipps at 2. Match of the night was at 3 where Charlie Yerrell edged Will Gardner 11-9 in the fifth to complete a comeback from 0-2 down. Paul Bolden and Chris Wildman both had good matches but went down 1-3 at 3 and 4 meaning that AGS just about edged the match 19-4. So a tough night out of the way and onto some winnable ones to wrap up the season.
