The Division 1 teams seem to be playing on alternate weeks at the moment so it’s just the 1Bs to report on this time. Unfortunately, they are also taking turns to lose, a bad habit which has resulted in both teams facing a genuine prospect of relegation (one goes down). Although a point behind, 1A have two games in hand over their clubmates, so they look to be in the safer position and should be able to move further ahead of Beaconsfield at the bottom and perhaps ahead of Holmer Green who lie fifth. Matches between the sides involved will prove crucial so all credit to Holmer Green who have now beaten both CBLTSC sides in a matter of weeks following a 16-5 victory over 1B on Wednesday. 3-0 defeats at 1 and 2 for Phil Taylor and Steve Sieff gave the rest of the side a lot of work to do. Rob Parry and Andy Piper at 3 and 4 each took one game and perhaps could have had more but star man for the home team was returning stalwart Neil Hinds, who administered a 3-0 squash masterclass (including old school scoring) to a bemused energetic opponent.
1B have three remaining fixtures and 1A have five although somewhat bizarrely, 1A have three of their five remaining matches before 1B play again. By that stage both sides will have a decent picture of what is required. A grandstand finish to the season beckons in both Div 1 and Div 2.
