Squash News – March 2015

Usual crop of points from the recent Squash Committee Meeting:

(1) Kate has updated her list of the current leaders of our two league competitions, which run to the end of April:

League Champion, (average highest league ranking to date)

1st  Dan Colquhoun
2nd  Will Gardner
3rd  Trevor Loran

Player of the Year (cumulative league points to date)

1st Tim Paul
2nd Andrew Jackson
3rd Tom Walter

(2) Our next Club Night, 1st April, is on a Wednesday. Do come along and join us for the usual games of racketball or squash (including doubles which has proved popular in the past) from 6:30 onwards.

(3) The Squash final held being held in Chicago will be replayed on Thursday 5th at 7:30pm on BT Sport. Why not come down to the club to watch on our new TV?

(4) Congratulations to Aubrey Waddy – he has recently won the British Masters over 65 title in Manchester. So Chesham Bois has a National squash champion for the first time – a great achievement for a small club and Aubrey’s hard work make it a thoroughly deserved title. He will now go on to represent England in the home internationals, along with Darren Withey and Sam Mueller.

(5) Finally Dom is finalising the draws for our next Club competitions, the Vets & Vints. This starts on 7th with finals on 22nd March. He will also put up a notice inviting entries for our main Club Championships to be held from 25th April with the final on 10th May.
